Effect of Solvent Motion on Ion Transport in Electrolytes

چکیده
We use concentrated solution theory to derive an equation governing solvent velocity in a binary electrolyte when current passes through it. This equation, combination with the material balance enables prediction of concentration profiles and species velocities as function space time. framework is used predict ion Li-Li symmetric cells containing mixture lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide poly(ethylene oxide) (LiTFSI/PEO), for which cation transference number relative velocity, t + 0 , can be either positive or negative, depending on salt concentration. Accounting motion increasingly important at higher concentrations. Especially negative if set zero, based electrode-electrolyte interface reference frame, pointed opposite flow. However, taken into account, same direction current. analysis demonstrates importance accounting rigorously seemingly simple systems such cells.
